PROJECT
Shaping Employee Effectiveness through Bias Removal
Objective: Bryte Insurance sought to enhance employee engagement and foster a cohesive workplace culture following a merger. With over 1,000 employees, the company aimed to create a unified environment that encouraged collaboration, strengthened perceptions, and supported smooth transitions during the organizational changes. The goal was to drive positive cultural shifts and improve overall employee effectiveness.

Our approach:
Solution: Humanist Company applied a behavioral strategy centered around removing embedded biases using nudge theory, behavioral linguistics, human storytelling, and binaural beats to reshape employee perceptions and enhance engagement.
The strategy was built around several key elements:
Nudge theory: We designed subtle behavioral interventions to guide employees toward more inclusive and collaborative behaviors without imposing direct changes. The nudges helped shift attitudes by making bias-related behaviors less prominent in decision-making processes and interactions.
Behavioral Linguistics: We integrated linguistic techniques into internal communication strategies, using specific language patterns to shift employee thinking and reinforce positive, bias-free narratives. This approach also helped to create a more inclusive and empathetic organizational culture.
Human storytelling: Real employee stories were used to humanize the merger process. These stories highlighted shared experiences, fostering a sense of unity and helping employees feel more connected to the broader organizational mission and vision.
Binaural Beats: To enhance the effectiveness of these initiatives, binaural beats were used in employee training sessions and wellness programs. This auditory technique helped improve focus, reduce stress, and promote cognitive shifts in employee attitudes, making them more receptive to the introduced changes.
Employee engagement: The comprehensive strategy included workshops, seminars, and digital content designed to engage employees at every level. These initiatives were rooted in behavioral science, ensuring employees’ cognitive biases were identified and addressed effectively.
Perception Shifting: Using nudge theory and linguistic strategies, Humanist helped reshape employees’ views of the merger, fostering a more positive outlook and reducing resistance to change. The human storytelling approach allowed employees to relate more deeply to the company’s journey, encouraging personal connections to the changes.
Continuous Feedback: Throughout the engagement process, NPS (Net Promoter Score) surveys were conducted to track employee sentiment and measure the effectiveness of the interventions. Real-time feedback was used to fine-tune messaging and initiatives, ensuring that the approach resonated and drove desired behaviors.
